I grew up in Santa Cruz, a small town where most people do not leave for college and end up in blue-collar work. My dad is a very skilled contractor. No license, but the guy every family friend called when they wanted professional work from someone they trusted instead of quotes from a pile of strangers. He did not like working with anyone, so his helper was teenage me, pulled off the skate park or out of the water to build a bathroom or a kitchen.

I was always more into the computer than the tools. Marketing, people, how buyers think, AI and automation, pretty much anything you can do on a laptop. And I always refused to get a corporate job.

I had all these skills in AI, started other businesses, built apps, freelanced. But eventually the most stable job I could find was helping my uncle’s remodeling company get more leads. I did not think this industry would be my big breakthrough, or the place where everything I had been doing with AI for the past couple of years would get used.

I put all of it to work, got innovative, and made $112,000 my first month from not knowing anything.
